How to fix missing Test link & other content items (such as SafeAssign or Surveys), in content areas of courses on the new Blackboard 8 system after importing old content.

We have discovered a glitch that sometime occurs after importing old content into the new Blackboard system. The test link sometimes does not appear when adding a new item in a content area, and there is no Learning Unit drop down menu on the right. This is caused by a setting that got changed during the export/import process and can easily be fixed. Below is a video on the process, as well as step by step instructions.

How To Modify the tool settings to bring the content link back

To modify your tool settings and bring back missing links:

Go into your Control panel of your course
Click on Manage Tools in the lower left area
Click on Content Type Availability
Check all of the boxes for the types you want available.
Hit Submit
